Another woman {and some chaps also}

The top two posters are part of a collection they made you can see here: http://leclubdeschevreuils.free.fr/ and their site is pretty cool too. And Sarah De Bondt is the designer that made the bottom three posts. The postcard was a two-sided postcard with an address on each side, you can see her other projects here: http://www.saradebondt.com/ She’s pretty legendary.
sound ouvit.

I grabbed the ct photos from here: http://grainedit.com/ where they’re entitle “modern graffiti”, an interesting term. The top photo just seemed right for a Sunday afternoon.
have to hand it to you

These are the new limited edition Size X Trainspotter X puma sky 2 kicks and they’r pretty damn tasty lookin. Now as much as I dislike size for not having girls sizes in anything but converse (cuz that’s all girls wear), I have seen a few very nice collabs they’ve put out, so well done, but stock smaller sizes please. Also stop teasing us by making nice girly coloured sneaks that are too big for our feet.

saw these guys at offset, thought more people should know about them, they’re basically a fashion company which promote ethical fashion design and textiles manufacturing. They’re from Dublin and are based here too. Check out their workshops and events at: http://www.re-dress.ie/index.html
Guilty Instra-pleasures
Everybodys got them….them tunes that they really dont want anybody to know they like but still fucking love them.Between The Neptunes to Timberland to Ryan Leslie the instrumentals are banging and most of them next level despite the crap vocals to cheesy hooks on them but here a few that have made the ipod playlist a few times in the past….
BEATS….
Ive been involved in the “beats” or “wonky” or “aquacrunk” or any other shite stupid pidgeon hole some pillock feels the need to place it for awhile…between Flying Lotus to Hudson Mo theres alot of shit out there….the post Dilla reaction was one im sure not many people saw coming….but I think its one of the biggest blessings that could have come thru the music scene.Dillas music opened up the idea and perspective of imperfection being dope and that music was about getting loose, doing your thing and flipping whatever your doing and i think it was Dilla that opened the eyes of alot of people who were stuck in premos sock drawer and nearly 5 years on this is more apparent then ever, production styles have taken this looseness to new levels, developed new styles and created different genres off the back of this….
In regards to beats…heres a mix of it all….straight to loose….most of this stuff is old….and alot of these guys are on some next shit now..but i think there good examples of how things progressed
BANGER OF THE WEEK NO:2
This week ive been on a serious Prince tip…possibly in the wake of the of the biggest prince fan I know (Stephen Powers) making a return to the homeland…either way Purple Rain’s been on the telly and the B-sides comp has been driving me wild all week.
Dam Funk put me on the facts of this little nugget,Vanity 6 were to Prince that the Love Unlimited were to Barry White…he manifested there sound and created a sub division I guess of that Prince sound which i guess wafted throughout the 80′s especially with all his work under different pseudonyms…either way this ones a belter….
Banger of the week No:1
Figured as I’m now an offical blogger(sweet)…id do something im sure has never been done before(kinda like creating a photo album on facebook called “random”) and start posting a track every week that im feeling….new, old or indifferent…
Jas James of paydayla.com put me on this nugget….Japanese funk group who made this funk/jazz fusion record in the 80′s,produced by Augie Johnson….who has produced similar sounding tracks to this one so it may sound familiar off the bat.
The part i love about the tune is the Nate Dogg esc backing vocals..Check it
“MASTER!!!…MASTER!!!”
Growing up i thought metal was the fucking tits,to me it was just guys like Dimebag Darrell or James Hetfield necking 2 bottles of wild turkey, kicking the fuck out of some queer then sniffing lines off a girls tits while busting out belters on the guitar…couldn’t have imagined anything cooler.
Throw in some Posion for the Hair metal dedication alongside Deftones who despite the “nu-metal” tag which developed once metal bands started wearing tribal t-shirts and calling people homies, still were fucking pioneers of there own sound.
and for the cunts that didnt like metal but enjoyed having long hair, bangles and leather chaps….don’t worry bout it….I GOTCH U
