fucknfilthy pop up shop dublin

Those of you who like to keep your finger firmly on Dublin’s fashion pulse have most likely already heard about ultra cool Dublin based clothing range FucknFilthy. Those of you who haven’t heard of it should be quickly whipping out a pen and paper and taking note. Started by Josh Gordon, the line is inspired by photography, design and street style and has amassed somewhat of a cult following in Australia and the UK. The range includes some very on trend pieces, my favorite of which being a t-shirt with a clever play on the words ‘cunning stunt’, although you might not want to wear this one when you’re visiting your granny. For a limited time only FucknFilthy will be taking up residence in the basement of All City Records, so I very much suggest getting your arses down there before its too late.

FucknFilthy is a blog and a platform used to promote new up and coming talent that distinguish themselves in the world of fashion, art & more. It evolved from an intimate blog to a widely recognized and appreciated source by thousands of individuals each day.
FucknFilthy Clothing perform great in sales everywhere in the world like NY,London, Paris, Japan, Sweden, Berlin, Australia & Ireland, topped by a lucrative pop up store in Dublin. For example the Spring / Summer collection was released in July to the FucknFilthy pop up store and almost all pieces sold out on the opening night.

Until now FucknFilthy colaborated with some amazing brands like Lazy Oaf, Adidas, Sony, Fred Perry, Toykyo. They are always open to new projects & fresh ideas, so we encourage you to contact them as long as you have a worth while idea to knock them off their feet. They will surely keep growing so keep an eye on them.

questions & answers♯27 – ether mul

One of Getnloose’s favourites – ETHER MUL drops in and drops some knowledge… Listen up!

etherleavingtracks
1. Tell us who you are – what you do and how long you’ve been doing it ?
ETHER, I’ve been writing too long, or not long enough depending on who you ask.
2. Favourite 3 colors?
Chicago Bulls all day… Black, White, and Red
3. Favourite 5 pieces of all time and why
In no particular order…
WHOLETRAIN (1988), story mentioned here.
MCKOY/BANOS (2010) Real business.
WHOLETRAIN (2006), Cash Is King!
CES/WISH, (1998) still one of the best panels to date, that I’ve seen on the MTA.
FREEDOM TRAIN (1976), you can read the story here.
4. Favourite city and why ?
Paris has amazing subways, rebellious people and a cool atmosphere.  However, Chicago is always home.  Stockholm gets a honorable mention it is a beautiful place, with tunnels that look like they’re straight out of a James Bond movie.
5. Favourite food / drink /?
6. Biggest vice ?
Impatience.
7. Biggest Gripe ?
Inefficiency.
8. Favourite shoe?
The Air Max 90 – Infrareds, but I fuck up so many pairs of shoes that there is no point in me owning anything nice.  These were pretty fresh too….
9. Favourite 5 tracks ?
10. Perfect day?
Waking up to morning sex, while someone else is catching day flicks of my panel from the night before at the yard. Then going out for more actions…
11. Whos the most famous person on your phone?
It’s too hard to choose one, as I only have famous people on my phone, and I change phones every few weeks.
12. 3 people you would love to have a pint with ?
I don’t really drink at all…
13. 3 things you cant live without . . .
Oxygen, water and food.
14. i am lucky/unlucky because . . .
I was born rich/not rich anymore…
15. Last time you were caught doing something ?
Breaking some “gangster’s” eye socket over using the phone on Rikers Island. He ended up pressing charges…
16. 5 things that are within arms reach of where you are right now?
A box of 100 stickers, throw away phone, dental floss, a bunch of stuff to mail out, and a box of Alpha-Bits cereal.
17. what would u grab from your burning house?
First and foremost anyone who is still in the house, my hard drive, and camera.
18. 3 things to do before you die?
I don’t have 3 specific things, I’d just like to travel more and experience new things.
19. earliest memory
Playing with my hot wheels on wooden spiral stair case, at my family’s first house.
20. any upcoming projects- shouts – final words !

ChoiceCuts presents … JRocc | Cubic Zirconia | Krystal Klear

jrocc_470x470

One of the original turntablists, J. Rocc founded the Beat Junkies in 1992 with Melo-D and Rhettmatic, but has done just as much on his own as in a group setting. He began DJing in the mid-’80s with a California group named PSK. Soon after forming, the Beat Junkies became a seminal force in the rise of instrumental hip-hop, including core member Babu plus future stars Shortkut and D-Styles.

In addition to numerous mixtapes and his own production for Stones Throw releases, J. Rocc has been the DJ for Madlib’s live shows since the early 2000′s, was the 3rd member of Jaylib (Madlib & J Dilla) during the group’s live events, and collaborated with Madlib on Beat Konducta Vol. 5-6: A Tribute to J Dilla.

New signing to the Lucky Me stable which has debuted the likes of Hud Mo, Mike Slott and have their finger on the pulse when it comes to new talent. Cubic Zirconia are a 4 piece based in NYC and are headed by avant garde soul songstress Tiombe Lockhart, they have been receiving great praise throughout the year, we look forward to hosting them for their debut irish performance

Born and raised in Dublin, making music his whole life Krystal Klear was at first inspired by Hardcore Punk and Metal, he began playing lead guitar and gigging around Ireland. His major inspiration was always Boogie, Funk and Hip-Hop – leading him to create the Krystal Klear moniker in 2008.

Since early 2010, Krystal Klear has recorded an exclusive mix for the now defunct (but forever infamous) Mary Anne Hobbs BBC Radio 1 show, been chosen as a resident for the successful Hoya:Hoya club night in Manchester, toured the U.S.A (stopping off at Dam Funk’s ‘Funkmosphere night) and garnered love from XLR8R, FACT and Dazed & Confused.

Krystal Klear’s contemporary take on Boogie / New Jack Swing pricked the ears of Cooly G who signed him for the debut A-side on her ‘Dub Organizer label. The single ‘Tried For Your Love’ was played 6 weeks in a row on Benji B’s BBC 1XTRA show and collaborations with Olivier Daysoul under the moniker ‘Krystal & Soul’ led to a deal from the tastemaking ‘Eglo’ label. With remix commissions from Lazersword and endorsements from Dam Funk – 2010 was the year Krystal Klear broke.

Being renowned as a firecracker live and a versatile DJ, his recent sets at the ‘Warehouse Project’, ‘Doldrums’ and ‘The Producers House’ club nights have solidified his presence on the U.K club circuit!
